Seems there a lot of places " Open Mic ' ing of late, and I am curious to what the experience is like in other places...Do you have to follow "rules" ? Are the bathrooms clean ? Are the staff and audience polite and supportive?? Well, we'll have none of that here at the Blueplate!! How'n the hell are you supposed to attain any personal growth from people namby-pambying your sorry folksinging ass? Why the hell do you think its called the "..school of hard knocks .."? It's time to grow a pair and come on down Thursdays to everyone's favorite dive and put your stuff out there with no regard to the consequences....screw em if they can't take a joke ( or a song, haiku or tone-poem..) We have a nice PA, some instruments and shit, and a jaded world view.
